Preparing for the exhibition

In this module we needed to explore the international side of exhibitions, images and other stuff. Also inspired by Ciara Leeming exhibition, I thought that it would be a good idea to translate our statement in few other languages and put it on the wall in the venue. Two of my models that I shot were Romanians, so I got translated in this language and also I am Lithuanian, so I used the chance and for the first time in a few years I written something in Lithuanian. I put all of that on one A2 size document and printed it on photo text paper, so we could stuck it on the door near the entrance. I also printed our poster. 

Statment in English:

For our collaborative project, we have stepped out of the light and into the darkness to illustrate the unknown and the mysteries of nightlife. Once the sun goes down we are connected to the physical world in ways that are lost during the day. Where once our ancestors were restricted by firelight we are now tethered to the world by a connection of artificial lights, be it at home, night club, or street light. The work that is on display is a personal exploration of the different aspects of nightlife.

Mūsų bendram projektui mes nusprendėme pasitraukti iš šviesos ir įžengti į tamsiąja pusę, parodyti nežinomą ir paslaptingą gyvenimą naktyje. Mes susijungėme su fiziniu pasauliu taip, kaip dažnai užmirštama dienos metu. Kur seniau mūsų protėviai buvo suvaržyti turėdami tik ugnies šviesą, dabar mes esame pririšti prie pasaulio, kuris yra apšviestas dirbtine šviesa. Šis projektas yra asmeninė kelionė po skirtingas nakties gyvenimo puses.

In Romanian:

Pentru colaborarea in acest proiectam decis sa pășim din lumina in întuneric arătând necunoscutul si misterele vieții de noapte. Noi reconectam lumea psihologica in cai ce sunt foarte des pierdute in timpul zilei. In timpul nopții casele sunt aproape goale si cluburile tăcute, dar când vine noapte acestea din urma se trezesc la viată. Vom explora diferitele aspecte ale vieții de noapte si ce produce asupra muncii, cum interpretam fiecare viața si noaptea dar si ce implica.
