Anna asked us to create an exhibition listing. So Abigail Bleasdale did it. However the short introduction needed to be changed, so Natalie put a couple of sentences and change it a bit. We used that to create our press release. Natalie and me put everything in one document and it looked like that:
Jordan and Natalie and the end of a crit on Tuesday promised to send it out, however next day I found out that Jordan didn't have internet and Natalie thought that Jordan was doing it. I also got a response that they didn't know were to send it. So I decided to do it myself as it was less than a week left to our exhibition and it needed to be done. Due to the fact that at that moment I was doing leaflets for my group I didn't have a lot of time to send it to many places, so I just send it to artrabbit.com and Manchester evening news. However it wasn't as easy as I thought, because these websites had their own press release forms that I needed to fill in. And couldn't use anything from the one that we created earlier as it didn't fit. So once again with help from Joe Gregory I written a new press release. We changed the description and made it look more interesting and catchy. That is a description that I used for press release:
Photography
exhibition by 4 students from the University of Salford. It is called After
Hours and it is an exploration about how the world changes once the sun goes
down. For some people the night is a chance to let their hair down but for
others it is a time of anxious worry. However, the absence of light also
affects the physical world around us with the contrast between nature and
technology more apparent than ever.
The
exhibition is being held in the heartland of Manchester’s nightlife, the
Northern Quarter, in the trendy subterranean bar and event space called Twenty
Twenty Two. Doors open at 5pm and the organisers of the event encourage you to
arrive early to benefit from the Happy Hour drinks promotion.
Having that I was able to send a couple press releases:
