Most of the exhibitions have something that visitors can take home. So I though that it would be a great idea to create a leaflet on which all of my group members could put their statements in, which meant that we didn't need to have separate one with our images on the walls.
I looked for some websites that could print quick, cheap, but nice leaflets. And I found website https://www.printed.com They offered next day delivery and variety choice of paper.
To make a pamphlet I needed to get statements from all of my group members and one of their final images. When I finally got all information that I needed using inDesign I started making our brochure.
I wanted to use the same colours that was dominating on our poster. So for the background I chose black. As all of the things I have done I wanted to keep it simple. On four pages I chose to put an image at the top at the statement below it. The font that I used for main information was the same one that used created a poster and for our names I chose to use my favourite fond of all time Trajan Pro 3.
I had one problem as all of our statements were different length and some of them I couldn't fit in the box, so I did a test print to see what size font I should use, because it is hard to see on a computer screen how they going to look in reality.
Having that I knew exactly which size going be the best and asked some of my group members to make their statements shorter.
It was a little difficult creating a design, but a at the end I came with an idea. I brought just one more colour in - red. Due to the fact that on our poster there is some strong red colours I thought that it would be perfect to use it. I put a circle shape at the front bottom of pamphlet, which covered the back of it as well. I also put some red lines in other pages, just below our names. On the front of leaflet I put just our logo and the time of exhibition and at the back email address, Instagram and Twitter. I found similar icons of Twitter, mail and Instagram on the internet. And at the back I also included University's and 2022 logos.
That is our final pamphlet:
At at least I was able to send it to print. I chose 80 leaflets A5 size printed on silk, 350gsm. I thought that they might be too thick, but I didn't have much choice as for next day delivery they could do just that or very thin ones. So I decided that 350gsm is going to be the best choice.
Pamphlets cost me £40.33 and arrived next day.
I am very happy with them, the printing quality was ok and the size of them was perfect as they could fit the pocket.
