Vivier is an artist and filmmaker who works in fashion. Highly influenced by the aesthetics of cinema, her work has a taut and psychological edge that contrasts with the beauty of the subject matter. The use of narrative is very important to her work as it allows viewer to see beyond representation, and her idea is to allow for different interpretations and for imagination. Her images are dark and contrasty. The lighting that she chose is perfect for night photography, it represents darkness and mysteries of nightlife.

This series of photos called ‘Untitled’ (2003) shows a young girl sitting on a fireplace and lying on the floor/bed in the house possibly at the night time. Images are dark with strong shadows. In both photos she is wearing white dress, which reminds me of nightwear and gives a feeling that images were shot at night. It seems that the girl is looking into nowhere that her thoughts are far away from the place that she is in.
The light in the images reminds me of light coming from an open door and lighting just a small space in the room.
