Organise,
in groups, an exhibition of your own photographic work. The photographic work
that you show must be developed during this module. Your group must respond to
an exhibition venue/geographic area. For example, your selected venue could be
a house and, by turns, the work you make may be about the domestic. You should
hold a private view for the public to attend – don’t forget to invite your
tutors, peers and take photographs as evidence that the event actually happened
and post the exhibition details (including an invite to the PV) on the course
Facebook page (and evidence this is your research).
The work
you exhibit and submit for assessment should be appropriately edited, printed,
mounted and framed. You must mount your own photographs and build your own
frame(s) using the facilities in Centenary Building i.e. the 3d area.
Your
research, development and reflection of the photographic work you are producing
from conception to realisation along with a final project statement must be
evidenced in a blog. You must pay particular attention to evidencing the
following:
A. The work
of at least 6 critically acclaimed photographers whose practice has informed
your own during this process.
B.
Extensive research into international photography festivals and/or gallery’s
which specialise in exhibiting art photography (at least 5 festivals/gallery’s,
in at least 2 different countries – the things you are looking at should
include their geography, themes, marketing, funding streams etc.)
C.
Extensive research into curation and art handling, and a demonstration of how
your research into this has helped you put on your own photography exhibition.
D.
Demonstrate your role in the selection your exhibition venue, how your participated
in research and negotiation of the exhibition theme; and how you contributed to
the exhibition organisation; the role you played in marketing your show, and a
list of the people you personally invited to the opening of your group
exhibition.
E. Your
research into marketing materials and marketing strategies.
F. Evidence
how you have disseminated your exhibition online – social media, websites
Etc.
G. Evidence
that you have upload an invite to the PV on the course Facebook page as well
as images
of the exhibition.
